Privacy Policy

What we collect

When you create an account we store your email address and a hashed password. We never store your password in plain text.

When you use the API we log the endpoint called, the response status, and a byte count. We do not log the content of your payloads.

When you submit the contact form we store your name, email address, and message so we can respond.

What we do not collect

No analytics scripts, ad trackers, or session-recording tools run on this site. We set no persistent tracking cookies. We do not collect your location, device fingerprint, or browsing history.

Cookies

We use short-lived session tokens stored in memory, not persistent tracking cookies. Cloudflare Turnstile (the CAPTCHA on registration and contact forms) may set its own cookies as part of bot detection. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for details.

Third-party services

  • Render hosts the application and database
  • Cloudflare Turnstile runs bot detection on forms
  • Resend sends transactional email (account verification, password reset)

We do not sell your data to any third party.

How we use your data

We use your email to authenticate you, send account emails you requested, and respond to contact form submissions. We use API logs to track usage against your plan and to debug problems. We do not use your data for advertising.

Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you return. Contact form submissions are kept until the matter is resolved. You can request deletion at any time via the contact form.

Your rights

You can request a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Use the contact form for any of these requests. We will respond within 20 working days, in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. If you are based in the EU, the same rights apply under the GDPR and we will honour them on the same timeline.

Security

Passwords are hashed with Argon2id. All traffic is served over HTTPS. API keys are stored salted and hashed, so we cannot retrieve the raw value after creation.

Changes

If we make material changes to this policy we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after that date means you accept the updated policy.

Licence Agreement

Ownership

The UFM Engine and all intellectual property related to it are owned exclusively by the operator of SPECTR. This licence does not transfer any ownership rights to you.

What you can do

You may call the SPECTR API to build applications, including commercial products, provided you comply with these terms. There is no royalty on revenue your application generates.

You may share output produced by the API (analysis results, structural profiles, replay data) as part of your own product or research.

What you cannot do

  • Sell, sublicence, or redistribute access to the API or the engine itself.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the underlying algorithm or model from API responses.
  • Use the service to train a competing model or system that replicates the UFM Engine's functionality.
  • Misrepresent the source of results. You may not claim that output was produced by a system other than SPECTR.
  • Use the service in a way that violates any applicable law.

Termination

We can suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms, abuse the service, or for any other reason with reasonable notice. You can close your account at any time via account settings or the contact form.

No warranty

The service is provided as-is. We make no warranty that it will be available without interruption or that results will be fit for any particular purpose. Use it at your own risk.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of New Zealand, except where mandatory local consumer law in your jurisdiction provides otherwise.

Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use of the service after the updated effective date at the top of this page constitutes acceptance. If a change materially reduces your rights, we will email registered users before it takes effect.
